Join me for three new yoga programs at Markham Wesley Centre (MWC) from June 19, 2023 – July 26, 2023!

Senior Chair Yoga

12 sessions (6 weeks, every Monday & Wednesday) 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm  

Suitable for Adults 65+

**min 10 people to start a class (No Prenatal or Post Natal Students)

Did you know you could practice yoga from a chair? Chair yoga gently stretches the joints and muscles through deep breathing and relaxing meditation. The program teaches many basic yoga poses from a chair to reduce pain, increase circulation, enhance flexibility, improve balance, sharpen coordination, and strengthen muscles. This course is geared for seniors. No yoga experience necessary.

Price: MWC Members: $180.00 / Non-Members: $216.00

Active Chair Yoga

12 sessions (6 weeks, every Monday & Wednesday) 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm 

Suitable for Adults 18 (Open to Teens Between 16-18 who MUST Be Accompanied by Parent or Guardian)

**min 10 people to start a class (No Prenatal or Post Natal Students)

This program uses the chair to modify various yoga poses and sequences for sedentary adults and people with limited range of motion. Props, such as blocks and straps, may be used to enhance the posture’s effectiveness. Standing poses that uses the support of a chair will be included for a more active workout. This form of yoga is also beneficial for corporate office workers who can sneak in a few stretches behind the desk! No yoga experience necessary.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

12 sessions (6 weeks, every Monday & Wednesday) 7:30 pm – 8:30pm  

For Adults 18 (Open to Teens Between 16-18 who MUST Be Accompanied by Parent or Guardian)

**min 10 people to start a class (No Prenatal or Post Natal Students)

Vinyasa Flow Yoga connects movement with the breath to create a continuous “flow” of poses.  This smooth, rhythmic sequence strengthens the joints, tones the muscles, increases flexibility, improves balance, sharpens coordination, and enhances mobility.  All poses can be modified to suit your physical limitations.  Students experience advanced meditation practices to not only relax the mind and body, but to also transcend into a higher spiritual level. No yoga experience necessary.
